What ceiling fan installation includes in Shreveport
A proper ceiling fan install is more than swapping a fixture. Every fan we hang in Shreveport, Bossier City, or Haughton goes on a UL-listed fan-rated metal box with the right bracing for the joist span overhead. Standard light-fixture boxes are not rated for the rotational load of a fan and are one of the most common causes of wobble, ceiling cracks, and eventual fan drop. If you're upgrading from a light fixture, we replace the box as part of the job.
For rooms with no existing fixture — common in older Highland, Broadmoor, and South Highlands homes — we run a new switched circuit from the nearest junction, fish the wire through the ceiling and wall cavity with minimal patching, and install a wall control where you want it. On vaulted, beamed, and two-story foyer ceilings we use downrods sized for the ceiling height (typically 12 to 72 inches) so the blades sit 8–9 feet off the floor for the airflow ceiling fans are actually designed to produce.
Outdoor and patio fans are a Louisiana favorite for May through October. Covered porches need damp-rated fans; fully exposed pergolas and pool cabanas need wet-rated. We pull GFCI-protected circuits where required by current NEC, and pair fans with smart or remote controls when you want speed and light on one wall switch.
